Community Involvement in Houston, TX
For 100 years, Russell & Smith Honda has been one of the most supportive businesses in the Houston, TX, area. We decided in the beginning that contributing our financial resources and time was one of the most beneficial ways to support the community. Now, we proudly donate to organizations and charities such as the Nick Finnegan Counseling Center, Bellaire Parks and Recreation Department, the Houston Chamber of Commerce, and local schools. It's just one of the ways we give back to a city that's always helped us thrive.
Nick Finnegan Counseling Center
In their son’s honor, the Finnegans collaborated with St. Luke’s UMC and created the St. Luke’s Center for Counseling and Life Enrichment, a free referral source for community mental health needs. In January 2012, their aim turned to providing on-site counseling leading to the establishment of the Nick Finnegan Counseling Center. The growth since then has been extraordinary, and this rapid growth directly corresponds to Houston’s need for affordable therapy.
The NFCC provides services at a significantly discounted base rate, through insurance options, and on a reduced fee sliding scale for those who otherwise could not afford healing. The Center’s counselors provide in-house therapy sessions to individuals, couples, children as young as 3 years old, and families. In addition to helping clients on-site, NFCC also helps those who attend support groups, community workshops, and talks led by NFCC, as well as those served through our partnerships.
Bellaire Parks and Recreation Department
The Bellaire Parks and Recreation Department provides programming, activities, and special events. It also oversees building and lawn maintenance for all city buildings and parks. The department’s aim is to provide excellent services, programs, parks, and facilities to strengthen the health, safety, welfare, and sense of community for the residents of Bellaire and visitors.
Houston Chamber of Commerce
The Houston Chamber of Commerce promotes community growth by facilitating partnerships with members, government, community leadership, and the international community. The Chamber has served our community since 1949 and matured over the years into a powerful force in the marketplace. Its location, in the center of Houston, creates unique opportunities for members to grow their businesses and their professional networks, thereby improving the community we all share. Members of the Chamber have many chances to meet up, trade ideas, and grow their professional and personal networks.
