2019 Honda Pilot - Russell & Smith HondaAmerica’s favorite family SUV is back and better than ever. The 2019 Honda Pilot returns with a healthy refresh of some of its gadgetry for the new model year. In its four years of production, the Pilot has enthralled drivers with its spacious versatility and outstanding performance. One of the best-selling SUVs in its class, this smart, strong, and reliable vehicle is a solid choice.

  1. Technology

The big news of the Pilot’s updates relate to improved technology features. With the exception of the base LX, all of the Pilot trims (EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite) are equipped with a new 8-inch touchscreen. Among its features is a much crisper interface for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

The top Touring and Elite trims come equipped with an embedded 4G LTE connection so you can feel plugged in wherever you go. This connection allows Honda to push updates to its infotainment system in real time. The LTE further transforms the Pilot into a rolling Wi-Fi hotspot for up to seven devices in the car.

Drivers can stay apprised of the Pilot’s operation with the new 7-inch instrument display that replaces last year’s 4.2-inch unit. The screen displays speed and RPM data with phone, music, trip, or navigation information. This is all easily controlled by a simplified set of user-friendly buttons accessed on the steering wheel.

Among the 2019 Pilot’s new tech advances is the incorporation of Honda’s CabinTalk. This cool feature amplifies your voice through the cabin’s second- and third-row speakers so you can communicate with your passengers and not risk losing your voice.

  1. Cargo Space

The Pilot is a workhorse that can carry your family, a week’s worth of groceries, and then some. The versatile seating configurations and folding seats create space to fit oversized items with relative ease.

With all seats in use, the Pilot provides 16.5 cubic feet of cargo space. With the third-row seats folded down, you’ll get 46.8 cubic feet of space. Collapse both rear seats to reveal a jaw-dropping 83.9 cubic feet. Access is provided via a power liftgate that is standard in the EX-L trim and above, and the top two trims come with a hands-free power liftgate.

  1. Safety

Honda’s Sensing suite of advanced driver assist systems is standard on all models and includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, road-departure mitigation, forward-collision warning, and collision-mitigation braking. Rear cross-traffic monitoring, which last year was only seen in the top two trims, is now offered on all Pilots except the base model. All Pilots now come with standard automatic high beams for added visibility.

The new 2019 Honda Pilot features innovative upgrades that give a real edge over the competition in terms of comfort, safety, and technological advancement. Coupling advanced performance with capacity in a mid-size vehicle that feels nearly effortless to drive is no easy feat. Come see why the Honda Pilot receives top marks today.
