Wine bars range from casual to upscale, and luckily for Houston residents, there are lots to choose from, especially in the Memorial Park area. We’ve listed our top five favorite local wine bars to help you pick your destination for your next night out!

Memorial Wine Cellar

Memorial Wine Cellar is a family-owned wine bar that offers a range of wines from different parts of the world and different price scales. Cozy and intimate, this is a favorite gathering place for local wine enthusiasts. The bar offers over 400 different varieties of wine and patrons are welcome to buy a bottle (or a case!) to take home.

Besides a bar, the Memorial Wine Cellar is also an event space and can be rented out for parties or corporate gatherings. It’s located in Unit B at 7951 Katy Freeway and is open seven days a week. Happy Hour runs from 5 pm to 7 pm Monday through Friday.

Spring Street Beer and Wine Garden

Offering a variety of drinks, Spring Street Beer and Wine serves both beer and wine as well as cocktails. However, unlike traditional full bars, there’s an extensive wine list that covers more than just a bottle or two per type. There’s a beautiful outdoor patio when the weather is pleasant and the bar regularly hosts events, like yoga and beer tastings.

Spring Street Beer and Wine Garden is located at 1920 Houston Avenue and is open every day of the week besides Tuesdays.

Max’s Wine Dive

Max’s Wine Dive pairs fantastic wine with Southern soul food for a unique blend of traditions. With a richly varied menu ranging from fried egg sandwiches to fried chicken to duck taquitos, there’s something for everyone. Wine fans will be impressed with their extensive list, and if you sit at the bar, the bartenders will be happy to suggest wine pairings that will perfectly complement your food.

Max’s Wine Dive is open seven days a week, with only dinner offered Tuesday through Thursday. It’s located at 4720 Washington Avenue in Suite B.

Ogun Art + Wine

Pairing African art with yummy appetizers and a range of wines, Ogun Art + Wine is one of the most unique wine bars in Memorial Park. Intimate and beautifully decorated, this bar is a favorite for date nights or small gatherings with friends. Enjoy a charcuterie board or a signature pizza while indulging in a glass of wine. South African wines are emphasized on the menu, but there are also offerings from Europe and America.

Ogun Art + Wine is located at 920 Studemont Street in Suite 150. The bar and gallery opens at 4 pm seven days a week with varying closing times.

Blending wine and good company, these Memorial Park area wine bars all make excellent destinations for a relaxing evening with friends or your significant other.
