A great way to cool down and have some fun is to hit up one of Houston’s many water parks. Here are our top four favorite water parks in the area. Try them and plan an exciting summer weekend.

Typhoon Texas

Located just outside Houston in Katy, Texas, Typhoon Texas is one of the most popular water parks in the area for families with little ones looking for fun. Stretching over 45 acres and home to 16 distinct rides, there’s something for everyone in this park. You will also find great dining options on site. Favorite rides include Lone Star Racers, Monster Storms, and the Lazy T River. With over 1.3 miles of waterslides and kiddo-friendly options, it’s no wonder why this park is so much fun!

Typhoon Texas is located at 555 S. Katy Fort Bend Rd. Tickets cost $44.99 when purchased at the window, but there are lots of other options, including season passes for only $64.99

Wet’n’Wild SplashTown

Wet’n’Wild SplashTown is Houston’s largest water park, covering 80 acres and jam-packed with all the adventure you could ever want. This park has the most rides in the area as well. The adventure is nonstop as you take on thrill rides like Alien Chaser, RipQurl, and the Tornado. Family-friendly options include an ever-popular lazy river, Big Kahuna, and Stingray Racers. For little ones, the Tree House is a specially designed interactive destination with plenty of water fun. There’s also an entire Wet’n’Wild Jr area for even more excitement!

Wet’n’Wild Splashtown is located at 21300 Interstate 45 North. Single day tickets start at $32.99 and season passes cost $69.99.

Moody Gardens’ Palm Beach

Open from Memorial Day Weekend, Moody Gardens’ Palm Beach is a relaxing water park that offers a 650-foot lazy river, two 18-foot waterslides, plus a wave pool. You’ll find an immaculate white sand beach and athletic guests will enjoy the regulation-size volleyball courts. An interactive splash pad is perfect for little ones and there is a shaded seating area for adults.

Moody Gardens’ Palm Beach is located at 1 Hope Blvd in nearby Galveston. It makes the perfect location for a weekend trip to the coast. Single day tickets start at $23.95.

Schlitterbahn Galveston Island

Schlitterbahn Galveston Island is the only water park in the area that is open year-round, so you can enjoy the fun rain or shine! The park has one of the largest lazy rivers in the country, and this attraction is regularly rated as a guest favorite. Looking for more thrills? Head to rides like Monster Blaster and Cliffhanger. Schlitterbahn Galveston Island is located at 2026 Lockheed St. Admission tickets start at $50.99 for adults.
