Best Breakfast in Houston, TXLooking for a delectable place to have breakfast in Houston, Texas? These are our top picks.

The Breakfast Klub

You have to try breakfast at a restaurant that has the word in its name! The Breakfast Klub is located in downtown Houston and serves breakfast from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Their chicken and waffles are some of the best in town. They make theirs with chicken wings, so they’re nice and crunchy. You definitely won’t go hungry. The plate is filled with a huge homemade Belgian waffle and six chicken wings. It’s topped with powdered sugar and fresh strawberries.

The rest of the breakfast menu is just as exciting. There are the catfish and grits, pork chops and eggs, biscuits and gravy, and a huge selection of breakfast sandwiches. They also have lunch options and are open until 3 a.m. on weekends.

Dish Society

Dish Society is dedicated to using fresh and local ingredients for their menu. Their coffee is excellent and they make fresh fruit and vegetable juices to order. The menu changes based on what is in season and if you miss the breakfast cutoff at 10:30, they have a brunch menu to get you through until 3:30 p.m.

For something big and filling, get the pork belly hash. It comes with pork belly, skillet fried potatoes, onions, roasted red peppers, jalapeños, and two sunny-side up eggs topped with an avocado Hollandaise. The chicken and biscuits is another crowd pleaser. The house gravy brings it to a whole other level. If you head for brunch be sure to try the chimichurri tacos and the house beignets.

Fountain View Cafe

For good home-style comfort breakfast foods in a relaxed setting, head to the Fountain View Cafe just west of downtown Houston. Like any good diner, Fountain View Cafe serves breakfast all day long. During the week they’re open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on weekends you can come from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The breakfast menu is all about eggs cooked your way and a choice of different meats and sides. Try the applewood smoked bacon or opt for turkey sausage if you’re looking for a lighter option. You can also have pancakes, egg sandwiches, or fruit and yogurt.

Blacksmith

Blacksmith is a great cafe any time of day, but especially for breakfast. They are arguably brewing up some of the best espresso-style coffee in Houston. They source ethically farmed coffee from around the world. They also have a huge selection of herbal teas in case coffee isn’t your thing.

The breakfast tacos are a great option if you love Mexican fusion food. You get one taco with potato and one with chorizo. They’re both served with eggs and refried beans in flour tortillas. The Vietnamese steak and eggs are also a popular dish for those that want a hearty start to the day. The steak and eggs are served on a French baguette with housemade pate and a side salad.

There are so many excellent breakfast options around Houston. Whether you’re looking for a quick and filling way to start the day or a place you can sit back and relax while digging into a healthy brunch, you’re bound to find it in downtown Houston.
