The Technological Features That Make the HR-V a Connected SUVWe want more out of our cars today than simply getting us from point A to point B. We want to stay connected to our friends, family, work, and more. Thankfully, the 2019 Honda HR-V comes with loads of technology features that will keep you in touch while on the road. Here are some of the impressive features of the HR-V that make it a connected SUV.

HondaLink

Using the HondaLink feature available with 2019 HR-V models, you can stay connected to your car while away. Never waste time wandering around looking for your parked car again. From the HondaLink app downloaded on your smartphone, you’ll be able to find your car even in the biggest parking garages. This app also allows you to check your available fuel range and even schedule appointments for auto service.

HandsFreeLink

The Bluetooth HandsFreeLink pairs with most Bluetooth capable phones and connects wirelessly to the HR-V’s infotainment system. This connection allows you to make and answer phone calls, send and receive text messages, and control your music without having to touch your phone. Voice recognition and steering wheel controls will help keep your hands and eyes where they should be for driving while still being able to interact with your phone.

Smart Phone Integration and Navigation

Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available with the 2019 HR-V for seamless smartphone integration. Access your favorite apps, music, and more through the available 7-inch color touch screen. These systems will even read text messages aloud to you when you receive them and send replies through voice recognition. You’ll also be able to check appointments and weather conditions through your Honda infotainment system.

Stay connected to the road ahead and get where you need to go with available integrated navigation. Honda’s satellite-linked navigation system uses voice recognition technology and real-time traffic information to act as your trusty co-pilot.

Safety Technology

Active safety features included in the Honda Sensing safety suite use intelligent technology to keep an eye on your surroundings and alert you to potential dangers. A collision mitigation braking system uses sensors to detect a potential forward collision and warn the driver. If the driver doesn’t respond quickly enough to avoid the collision, the system will help bring the vehicle to a stop.

Stay in your lane and on the road with the road departure mitigation and lane-keeping assistance systems. Both use advanced technology to make sure you stay centered in your lane and properly signal when changing lanes, and the system will even correct your steering to get you back on track when necessary.

Plenty of Power Sources

With two USB Ports and a 12-volt power outlet, your devices will stay charged and connected even during long trips. Rear passengers will also be able to stay charged with a 12-volt power outlet in the back of the center console. The USB ports don’t only provide a power charge, they also connect certain MP3 audio devices and smartphones for audio controls.
