Some of their specialties include chocolate cappuccino and red velvet. If you’re still not sold on donut holes, even super delicious ones, they also sell standard-sized donuts. Move over kisses, and bring me the donuts. Hugs & Donuts offers up some amazingly well-crafted donuts that will leave you wondering how you polished off a whole dozen before you finished your morning commute into the office.

Prepare for a line on the weekends because these inventive donuts are on everyone’s menu. Hugs & Donuts has some wild specialties like the s’mores donut and a bacon and egg donut sandwich. Bacon and donuts? Sign me up!

Glazed, the Donut Cafe

You may have quietly discarded the empty donut box before heading into work, but now it’s lunchtime, and it’s time for more donuts. Glazed, located at 1333 Old Spanish Trail, believes that everything deserves to have bacon on it and donuts are no exception. One of their specialties is the Macon donut which is a hot and fresh delicacy consisting of a maple-glazed donut topped with crushed bacon.

They also have several experimental flavors like crème brulée and peach sour cream cake. Another standout feature of Glazed is how it runs its operation. In fact, it doesn’t stop running and is open 24 hours a day.

Christy’s Donuts

This mom and pop shop is not your ordinary donut shop. Located near River Oaks and Montrose, Christy’s has become a local favorite. Two of their most popular menu items include the glazed donuts and the jalapeño, sausage, and cheese kolache. When you enter the shop, you will instantly notice the fantastic smell of donuts and the sweet freshness of the buttery glaze. The parking lot is usually full, but don’t let that stop you from heading in for a breakfast treat.

Houston is becoming a pilgrimage destination for donut lovers. In addition to the four delectable shops listed above, you’ll find more than 10 unique and distinct donut shops, each with its own signature flavors.  We recommend trying them all; just remember to leave room for the next donut shop on your list.
