You can also view the student artwork on display at the Dr. Mari Jon Filla Student Art Exhibit and shop hundreds of vendors offering a variety of pet goods and services at the McScotty Market.

Houston Arboretum and Nature Center

Summer is the perfect time to get out and walk the trails at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center. This 155-acre urban nature reserve offers free admission every day. If you’re looking for a nice long-distance hike, the 2-mile Outer Loop trail takes you around the perimeter of the arboretum. Along the way, you might spot birds, mammals, and insects. For families, the Alice Brown Loop is easily accessible for all ages. The trail starts the nature center and leads to a small pond.
