It’s most of all known for a thriving and exciting music scene, replete with an impressive history of star performances. However, Houston does offer more than that. If you’re looking to take your kids on a new adventure in the area, here are some activities to try.

Brazos Bend State Park

 

Enjoy the Brazos Bend State Park, which is only forty miles outside of downtown.

One of the perks of the area is the nature center it offers. There, you can experience hands-on exhibits and visit the gift shop. The park offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. There are over three hundred different bird species, lovely flowers and butterflies, and even alligators.

Come at night to watch the stars shine or try one of their hikes. Camp out, go fishing, or go biking. This park offers a healthy activity for everyone, and the park’s terrain is fairly ancient, thus offering an educational perspective.

Dewberry Farm

 

If you’re seeking another healthy activity, than heading over to Dewberry Farm with your young ones might be a good choice. Activities worth exploring there include Fort DewHickey, a fun-filled creation through which kids can meander, climb, and explore. If you’re sick of sandboxes, why not let the kids play in the Dewberry Farm Corn Box? There is also a Hay Jump area, where stacks are used as an ultimate game.Plus, there’s Horse Shoo Lake, a serene body of water, the Corn Maze to explore, and so much more–a total of over forty extremely unique attractions.
