Honda Dealer in Houston, TXHonda is constantly working on new innovations so that they can lead the way in advanced vehicles and concept cars for the future. Here are Honda’s future vehicles and what we know about them.

2019 Honda Insight

Coming in 2019, the Honda Insight is a sleek hybrid sedan that promises an impressive driving experience. Its powertrain will have a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine that will work together with an electric motor and lithium-ion battery. The engine will act as a generator and allow the Insight to run mostly on electric power. There will be three driving modes: ECON, Sport, and EV, so you can customize your experience and maximize efficiency and driving performance.

The Insight will offer luxury and high-end technology, with leather seating and plenty of space in the rear of the vehicle. There is an 8-inch touchscreen display for infotainment and a 7-inch LCD driving display. You will be able to customize apps on the infotainment system and use Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There will be mobile hotspot capabilities and 450-watt premium audio system. The insight will have 15 cubic feet of trunk space and 60/40 split rear seats that you can fold down to increase the cargo room in the back.

The Insight will have Honda Sensing Standard, which includes a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Sports EV Concept

The Sports EV is currently a concept car that looks retro but features current electric vehicle technology. The cabin is set far back in the body of the car and has a traditional long-hood and short-rear-deck layout. It’s small, but also sporty and compact with a low center of gravity

While the design takes you to the past, the Sports EV Concept is built on an EV- specific platform and looks to the future with electric vehicle technology. The vehicle will also incorporate AI technology so that there is a oneness between driver and car.

2&4 Racing Concept

The 2&4 Racing Concept vehicle combines the feeling of freedom and exhilaration that you get when riding a motorcycle with the handling of a race car. This vehicle combines the best features of a motorcycle and race car to create a four-wheel, lightweight, open-air bike that has a superbike motor under the hood.

The 2&4 Racing Concept was from Honda’s internal “Global Design Project,” which had 80 designers from Honda’s motorcycle design studio create new concepts and models. Each designer voted on their favorite. The 2&4 model, the top choice, was taken to a design facility where the design became reality.

This concept car has a 999cc V4 motor and gets 215 horsepower at 13,000 rpm through a six-speed DCT gearbox.

It is always fun to see what new concepts Honda is playing with for the future. Be sure to visit Honda’s website for more updates on future vehicle and concept cars that they are working on.
